Provence-Alpes-Côtes d’Azur:

The Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region is situated at the heart of the Mediterranean arch and has no less than 800 km of coastline.  A genuine gateway for Southern Europe, the region is not only an essential gateway and prime economic centre but it is also one of France's most tourist regions.

With a number of means of communication in particular two of France's biggest airports (Nice-Côte d'Azur and Marseille-Provence) and the country's first sea port (Marseille's autonomous port), the region is particularly open to the outside world.
